Control UP

What is ControlUp?

ControlUp is a performance monitoring and management solution for virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and server-based computing environments. It provides real-time visibility and insight into the performance of virtual desktops, servers, and networks, allowing administrators to quickly identify and troubleshoot performance issues. Additionally ControlUp gives the ability to analyse the endpoint device to identify trends, run reports and highlight any “last mile” problems.

Some key features and benefits of ControlUp include:

  • Real-time monitoring: ControlUp provides real-time monitoring and alerting for virtual desktops, servers, and networks, allowing administrators to quickly identify and troubleshoot performance issues.

  • Performance analytics: ControlUp provides detailed performance analytics, such as CPU, memory, and network utilization, to help administrators understand the root cause of performance issues.

  • Automation: ControlUp provides an automation engine that allows administrators to automate common tasks, such as restarting processes or logging off users, to quickly resolve performance issues.

  • Reporting: ControlUp provides a variety of customizable reports that can be used to track performance over time and identify trends and patterns.

  • Integration: ControlUp integrates with other solutions such as IGEL OS, which can provide a secure and reliable endpoint for VDI and other remote-working solutions.

  • Scalability: ControlUp is designed to handle large environments and can monitor thousands of sessions and servers.

  • Security: ControlUp has a built-in security feature that allows administrators to control access to the platform and restrict access to specific data and actions.

ControlUp can be used to monitor and manage virtual desktops and applications delivered by solutions such as Citrix DaaS, VMware Horizon, and Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop, as well as other virtual desktop infrastructure.

See it in Action

Below you can watch a short demonstration of how ControlUp can be used to monitor an end users device and their VDI session. In this demo the users device is installed with IGEL OS, the Virtual Desktop is accessed via Citrix DaaS and is located in the cloud.

ControlUp and IGEL OS can complement each other by providing a comprehensive solution for monitoring, managing, automating, securing, reporting, and optimizing the performance of virtualized environments. ControlUp provides a powerful performance monitoring and management solution while IGEL OS provides a secure and high-performance endpoint, together they provide a robust solution for virtualized environment management.

ControlUp with VDI

Already have a VDI environment? Here is a breakdown of how ControlUp can work with each of these products:

Citrix DaaS: ControlUp can be used to monitor the performance of Citrix DaaS environments, providing real-time metrics on CPU, memory, and network utilization, as well as other performance metrics. ControlUp’s automation engine can also be used to automate common tasks, such as restarting processes or logging off users, to quickly resolve performance issues. ControlUp’s reporting capabilities also can provide detailed reports on the performance of a Citrix DaaS environment, including historical data.

VMware Horizon: ControlUp can be used to monitor the performance of VMware Horizon environments, providing real-time metrics on CPU, memory, and network utilization, as well as other performance metrics. ControlUp’s automation engine can also be used to automate common tasks, such as restarting processes or logging off users, to quickly resolve performance issues. ControlUp also has a built-in security feature that allows administrators to control access to the platform and restrict access to specific data and actions.

Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop: ControlUp can be used to monitor the performance of Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop environments, providing real-time metrics on CPU, memory, and network utilization, as well as other performance metrics. ControlUp’s automation engine can also be used to automate common tasks, such as restarting processes or logging off users, to quickly resolve performance issues. ControlUp’s reporting capabilities also can provide detailed reports on the performance of an Azure Virtual Desktop environment, including historical data.

Microsoft Remote Desktop Services (RDS): ControlUp can be used to monitor the performance of RDS environments, providing real-time metrics on CPU, memory, and network utilization, as well as other performance metrics. ControlUp’s automation engine can also be used to automate common tasks, such as restarting processes or logging off users, to quickly resolve performance issues. ControlUp’s reporting capabilities also can provide detailed reports on the performance of an RDS environment, including historical data.
